The Association of Anglican Musicians (AAM) is seeking host institutions and mentors for the Gerre Hancock Internship for 2023–2024 and beyond. This Internship supports young professionals in pursuit of their vocation in church music and offers an opportunity to be mentored for ten months in one of the Episcopal Church’s music programs.

Begun in 2014, the Internship is named after AAM cofounder, Gerre Hancock. The 2022–2023 Hancock Intern, Christopher Pharo, is currently in residence at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco. Former interns have been hosted at Trinity Church (Boston, Massachusetts), Washington National Cathedral (Washington, DC), Trinity Episcopal Cathedral (Columbia, South Carolina), St. Mark’s Church (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), and St. James Cathedral (Chicago, Illinois).

The deadline to apply to be a host institution is October 15, 2022. Application materials and program guidelines can be found at www.anglicanmusicians.org/internship. Email Internship Committee Chairperson, Stephen White (internship@anglicanmusicians.org) for more information.

The Gerre Hancock Internship is funded through the AAM Endowment Fund, which disburses over $40,000 in grants each year.
