Christa Rakich premieres James Woodman chamber sonata

Rhonda Rider, Christa Rakich, and James Woodman

Christa Rakich and cellist Rhonda Rider premiered James Woodman’s Chamber Sonata IV for Organ and Cello at the Methuen Memorial Music Hall, Methuen, Massachusetts, on June 26.

The work’s three movements are “Earth,” “Air and Fire,” and “Water.” The program also included Margaretha Christina de Jong’s Sonata for Organ and Cello, a 2016 commission from the American Guild of Organists Hartford Chapter.
