David Jonies recitals

David Jonies has recently played recitals at Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana; St. Paul Cathedral, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; St. Helena Cathedral, Helena, Montana; Cathedral of the Epiphany, Sioux City, Iowa; the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; St. Joseph Parish, St. Joseph, Michigan; Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, Wisconsin; St. John Cantius, Chicago, Illinois; Presbyterian Homes, Evanston, Illinois; and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Monona, Wisconsin.

David C. Jonies is associate director of music and organist at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, a position to which he was appointed in 2006. A native of Germany, he received his first musical training as a chorister and organ scholar at Metten Abbey in Bavaria. Subsequently, he studied at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg, with Gerhard Weinberger (organ) and Günther Kaunzinger (improvisation).

He was a featured recitalist for national conventions of the Organ Historical Society and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. This past fall, he made his debut in France with a recital at Notre Dame in Paris. He will play a recital for the 2017 AGO Regional Convention in Youngstown, Ohio.
