Glatter-Goetz/Rosales Organ 20th anniversary concert

Glatter-Goetz/Rosales organ

Cherry Rhodes, joined by guest artist, Ladd Thomas, will present a concert April 22 at Claremont United Church of Christ, Clarement, California, in celebration of the Glatter-Goetz/Rosales organ's 20th birthday. The program will include J.S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in E Minor, BWV 548; Four Pieces for the Mass by José Lidón; Puer Natus in Bethlehem by Fr. Joseph Walter; Ladd Thomas will join Ms. Rhodes in a performance of Claude Debussy’s Prelude, Aria, and Dance from The Prodigal Son arranged by Los Angeles composer Rayner Brown; and Fantasy and Fugue, op.135b by Max Reger. Ms. Rhodes is Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music.

Ladd Thomas will be guest speaker at a catered dinner following the concert. Dr. Thomas is professor of organ and chair of the organ department at USC, and has been organist of the First United Methodist Church of Glendale since 1960. A consultant for the new organ project at CUCC beginning 30 years ago, he was an influential figure in the development of the Glatter-Goetz/Rosales organ.

Suggested concert donation: $15 general, $12 student/senior.
