Under the direction of Elizabeth C. Patterson, sings motets by twenty composers from the Italian, Flemish, German, Spanish, and English schools, including Lassus, Byrd, Victoria, Hassler, de Wert, Nanino, and Anerio.
The central work of the recording is the Missa super Bella Amfitrit’ altera by Lassus. Other selections include Anerio’s Requiem aeternum and William Byrd’s Terra Tremuit.
