New book by Michael McNeil

The Sound of Pipe Organs by Michael McNeil has been published by CC&A, LLC. The hardbound, 191-page book was written for the professional organbuilder, tonal designer, and pipe voicer. The book explains how the vast range of organ sounds are achieved and explores the relationships between the scaling and voicing of organ pipes, acoustics, wind system dynamics, and temperaments.

Available from the Organ Historical Society, $50.00 (OHS member price $45.00);
