New Sowerby CDs

Leo Sowerby

The East Texas Pipe Organ Festival announces release of a 3-CD set of music by Leo Sowerby as played and conducted by Alexander McCurdy and Paul Callaway in private recordings published by the Leo Sowerby Foundation.

Discs 1 and 2 feature Sowerby’s Lenten Cantata Forsaken of Man in a live performance at First Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 7, 1971, with Alexander McCurdy, organist and choirmaster. Disc 3 features music from Sowerby’s memorial service at Washington National Cathedral on October 19, 1968, with Paul Callaway, organist and choirmaster.
