Olivet Nazarene University Concerts

Olivet Nazarene University invites you to experience the majesty of the Ruffatti pipe organ played by three accomplished performers. “The Spring Festival of Organ Music” will take place in the Betty and Kenneth Hawkins Centennial Chapel on three consecutive Fridays from 12:10 to 12:55 p.m.:

Friday, March 21, 2014 — Elizabeth K. Walden is the director of music ministries at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, Ill. She has performed with the Salt Creek Sinfonietta and the Downers Grove Choral Society, and is a board member of the Fox Valley chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Friday, March 28 — Señor Hector Guzman is the music director of Texas’ Plano Symphony Orchestra, the Irving Symphony and the San Angelo Symphony. A native of Mexico, he has received many accolades, including the “Outstanding National Young Artist” award given by the government of Mexico, the 2012 “For the Love of Art” Lifetime Achievement award, and the “Mozart Medal” given by the Embassy of Austria and the Mozart Academy in Mexico.

Friday, April 4 — David Schrader is a member of the music faculty at Roosevelt University, and is accomplished on harpsichord, organ, pianoforte and piano. He has been invited to perform at the national convention of the American Guild of Organists three times, and has also performed with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
