Renée Anne Louprette concert

Organist Renée Anne Louprette, uilleann piper Ivan Goff

Organist Renée Anne Louprette and collaborator Ivan Goff, uilleann piper and Irish concert flute and whistle player, will premiere their new album Bright Vision in concert at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, New York, on Sunday, January 20, at 3 p.m.

The Sacred Music in a Sacred Space concert series is a significant part of this duo’s story—they debuted their innovative collaboration in early 2018 during Louprette’s recital celebrating the 25th anniversary of St. Ignatius Loyola’s Mander organ. Featuring Bright Vision performed in track order, the concert will include original compositions and arrangements for uilleann pipes, Irish concert flute, and pipe organ. The duo will also present traditional dances from Brittany. Tickets are $25; purchase at smssconcerts.org or call 212/288-2520.

Bright Vision is the result of a chance introduction at the 2017 Northeast Tionól, an annual gathering of uilleann pipers in East Durham, New York, where Louprette and Goff discovered their mutual curiosity for pairing the timbre of the Irish uilleann pipes with the tonal resources of the pipe organ.

Goff and Louprette debuted their collaboration in 2018 in performance at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in New York. In addition to their second engagement at that venue, their 2018-19 season includes a performance at Disney Hall in Los Angeles, featuring the world premiere of a new work by New York-based composer Eve Beglarian, commissioned for the duo by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and a recital at Cadet Chapel of West Point Military Academy.

The Louprette-Goff duo is represented in North America exclusively by Phillip Truckenbrod Concert Artists, LLC.
