Paris Week, July 2-9, 2001

The ninth biennial seminar attracted 80 participants who assembled in Paris anticipating the first week of playing time on the great instruments,lessons and classes with master teachers, participants' recitals, and the hospitality of our gracious hosts. The seminar always includes discourses about the instruments, improvisations by resident organists, and playing time for
participants.

Chicago, Illinois, June 25-July 1

The forty-seventh annual convention of the Organ Historical Society took place in Chicago, with some forty events scheduled throughout the seven-day period. The convention committee, ably chaired by Stephen Schnurr, organized a well-rounded series of events designed to display a wide variety of instruments, from small one-manual nineteenth-century trackers to a huge five-manual 8,000 pipe-Wurlitzer.

The Organ Historical Society’s Annual Convention, August 11–14, 2014

The Organ Historical Society’s 59th Annual Convention took place in central New York with the historic Genesee Grande Hotel, Syracuse, as convention headquarters, though some of us stayed at the equally pleasant Park View Hotel three or four blocks away, owing to a lack of accommodation at the main hotel. One might not normally bother with such details, but I would like to begin by mentioning that Birnie’s Bus Service of Rome, New York, provided the OHS with the best bus service I think I have ever experienced on any convention.
