Regent Records announces a new organ recording, Thomas Trotter: A Celebration, 40 Years as Birmingham City Organist (REGCD 584).
Trotter was appointed to the position in 1983, in succession to George Thalben-Ball. The organ was originally built by William Hill with subsequent projects by Thomas Hill, Henry Willis III, and N. P. Mander. The disc includes works by Charles H. H. Parry, Rachel Laurin, Healey Willan, Sigfrid Karg-Elert, William Wolstenholme, and others.
