Wanamaker Organ Day

The Friends of the Wanamaker Organ presents Wanamaker Organ Day June 3.

The schedule begins Saturday at 10 a.m., with free pipe chamber tours and special presentations, including Rick Seifert’s sound-and-image Wanamaker Organ tribute. The first concert kicks off at 11 am with Peter Richard Conte, Steven Ball, Todd Wilson, Rudy Lucente, and Andrew Ennis. The program is broadcast live at WRTI-FM and over the Internet at WRTI.org

A Coronation Music tribute to Queen Elizabeth II at 5 p.m. features the Festival Chorus and Brass ensemble. Rounding out the festivities are pipe-chamber tours, audio-visual presentations, plus a 2 p.m. Harold Lloyd silent-movie romp with Steven Ball on the Greek Hall Wurlitzer ($10). For early birds, a full day of more intimate, free events is held on Friday June 2, also.

The ticketed Evening Spectacular begins at 8:30 p.m. in the Grand Court, where Peter Richard Conte, Steven Ball, Rudy Lucente, Todd Wilson and Andrew Ennis present masterworks in the concert-hall hush of the Grand Court.
