Nunc Dimittis

Elizabeth Birkshire Brothers Sherman, age 91, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died on July 21. She was a longtime active member of the Central Arkansas AGO chapter and served as Dean from 1970-72. She was organist at various churches in Little Rock, including Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Sherman is survived by two sons, a sister, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lionel Frederick Dakers
died on March 10 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK. Born on February 24, 1924, in
Kent, Dr. Dakers studied at Rochester Cathedral and with Sir Edward Bairstow in
York. Following military service in the Royal Army Education Corps, he studied
at the Royal Academy of Music in London and earned a BMus from the University
of Durham in 1951. He received an honorary DMus from Exeter University in 1982,
and he was appointed CBE in 1984.

Mildred M. (Meyer) Brugger, age 88, of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, passed away January 28, 2014. Born November 2, 1925, in Erie, she worked for the Tellers Organ Company of Erie for many years before she and her husband, Eric, founded Brugger Releathering, where she continued for over 40 years until her retirement. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edinboro.
