Pasi Organbuilders, Op. 14: St. Cecilia Cathedral, Omaha, Nebraska

The new organ at St. James's Episcopal Church, Richmond,
Virginia, was designed and built by C. B. Fisk, Inc., of Gloucester,
Massachusetts. Opus 112 of the Fisk firm, the three-manual instrument of 62
ranks is housed in a linen white case. The specification reflects the many
roles a modern American church organ must play: leading hymn singing,
accompanying choral music, and playing hundreds of years of organ repertoire.

Pasi Organ Builders, Inc., Roy, Washington, has built a new organ for West Vancouver United
Church, British Columbia. The firm's Opus 10 comprises 31 stops, 38 ranks, and 1,851 pipes over two manuals and pedal, and features mechanical key and stop action. Most of the metal pipes are 97% lead; wood pipes are made from tulipwood. The case, standing 28 feet high, is made of cherry wood, with walnut inlays.

Greg Harrold, Los Angeles, California, has built a new 24-stop organ for the Kay/MacBird residence in Brentwood, California. This organ, the builder's Opus 14, features mechanical key and stop action. The 56-note manuals have bone naturals and ebony sharps. There are two interchangable 30-note pedalboards, one flat/parallel and one concave/ radiating. Wind pressure is 65mm from a single-fold wedge bellows and the organ is tuned in Kellner temperament. The case is of waxed spruce.

Orgues Létourneau, St. Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada, has built a new organ for First
Baptist Church, Kalamazoo, Michigan. The firm's Opus 55 comprises 54 stops, 67
ranks, and 3,638 pipes over three manuals and pedal. The organ features mechanical key action (except the Trompette en chamade and offset chests, which use electric action), and electric stop and combination action. Manual naturals are of ebony, sharps of maple; pedal naturals of maple, sharps of rosewood;
manual/pedal compass 61/32.

A.E. Schlueter Pipe Organ Company
style='font-weight:normal'>, Lithonia, Georgia, has built a new organ of 12
ranks for Lowell Presbyterian Church, Lowell, North Carolina. The church's
previous instrument was a four-rank unit organ of stock design. The new organ
console is built of white oak. Console interior is mahogany with clear maple
dividers. Keyboards feature tracker touch, and the console is fitted with a
Peterson multi-level combination system. The layout of the chancel and the
architecture of the church called for installation in one chamber.

John-Paul Buzard Pipe Organ Builders, Champaign, Illinois,
has built a new organ for St. George's Episcopal Church, Belleville, Illinois.
The firm's opus 19 comprises 26 stops, 32 ranks on two manuals and pedal in a
free-standing white oak case.

Harrison & Harrison, of Durham, England, has built a new organ for Trinity Episcopal Church, Vero Beach, Florida. The instrument stands behind the high altar, speaking directly towards the nave, which seats about 350. The east end of the church was specially lengthened to receive it, and a further enlargement of the church is planned. The organ is about 18 wide, 12 deep, and 28 high; Great and Swell are at the main level, Solo at the upper level towards the apex, and Pedal on either side.

Hendrickson Organ Company, St. Peter, Minnesota, has built a
new organ for Wayzata Community Church, Wayzata, Minnesota. Opus 92 is a
4-manual, 70-rank tracker action instrument installed in a white colonial-revival style case at the front-center of the new church sanctuary. The "C.
Charles Jackson" pipe organ is named for its principal donor and long-time
supporter of the church and its music program. Diana Lee Lucker is Director of
Music and Organist.

Bradford Organ Company, of Evanston, Illinois, has built a new two-manual and pedal mechanical action organ (Opus 10) for the residence of Michael David and Margaret Shell in Evanston. The manual/pedal compass is 61/32 and tuning is equal temperament. The case is of white oak with walnut accents. Case design was by Kenneth Greenberg. George Weissler designed and executed the carving above the keydesk. Bradford staff who worked on the instrument include Walter Bradford, Ron Damholt, Greg Simanski, John Peters, and Eric Haugen.

J. F. Nordlie Co. Pipe Organ Builders
style='font-weight:normal'>, Sioux Falls, SD, has built a new organ, opus 27,
for Faith Lutheran Church, Prairie Village, KS. The contemporary architecture
of the church prompted a dramatic case design. Asymmetrical shapes in the room
suggested a balanced, angular silhouette. Disjunct ceiling planes necessitated
a single tower for the Pedal and a front/back arrangement for the Great/Swell.
The large painted case is softened by richly-hued light from the ceiling clerestory.
