James Kennerley Kotzschmar debut

James Kennerley

James Kennerley makes his début as Portland’s 11th Municipal Organist, Wednesday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m., on the Kotzschmar Organ in Merrill Auditorium.

Entitled “Overtures,” the program include orchestral overtures by Wagner, Rossini, and Bernstein transcribed for organ solo, works by César Franck, a piece by former Municipal Organist Edwin Lemare that achieved worldwide fame as one of the most popular songs of the day, and a work by contemporary British composer, Jonathan Dove, as well as one or two surprises.
