The University of Chicago’s Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, Chicago, Illinois, presents a carillon conference, “Welcome to Tower Thoughts, a Carillon New Music Festival,” May 9–11. Guest performers Tiffany Ng, Jasper Depraetere, and Stefano Colletti will play works by six commissioned composers: Connor Chee, Carolyn Chen, Yvette Janine Jackson, Liesbeth Janssens, Ania Vu, and Charlie Zettek.
There will be five concerts on the Laura Spelman Rockfeller Memorial Carillon of 72 bells: May 9, 7:00 p.m.; 5/10, 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.; and 5/11, 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Masterclasses will be led by each guest performer for anyone who plays carillon.
