The East Texas Pipe Organ Festival announces a new CD, Tico Tico: Walt Strony, Live in Kilgore, Texas, recorded in recital by Strony on the 1949 Aeolian-Skinner organ at First Presbyterian Church, Kilgore, during the 2012 East Texas Pipe Organ Festival. This recording was made by Michael Barone, host of American Public Media’s “Pipedreams."
Selections include Tico Tico; Improvisation on “On the Sunny Side of the Street” and “Over the Rainbow”; Ain’t Misbehavin’; A Handful of Keys; Carmen Fantasy; Bess, You Is My Woman Now; Medley from Kismet.
